The Five Bells Inn Reviews

Caroline
Great place for a friends gathering Clean and so much space
Louise
From start to finish The Five Bells Inn did not disappoint. It was a great place to celebrate my Dad's 90th birthday, with plenty to do for a family of 13 adults and 2 little ones. So much space and different areas for everyone to have their own space and take part in the numerous activities available. The social areas were all very comfortable, as were the bedroomsensuites. Communication prior to our stay was great, we were helped with many recommendations for places to eat & takeaways. Lou and Tracy were friendly & helpful. The whole group thoroughly enjoyed the few days we spent at Five Bells, we would highly recommend this property to other groups. 5 stars for The Five Bells
Joseph
We had such a wonderful time at The Five Bells over Christmas and wanted to share our experience on behalf of our entire group. The facilities were fantastic, with plenty of space to wander around and explore. The hot tub and sauna were particular highlights, and the property was beautifully decorated for Christmas. The bedrooms were very clean with comfortable beds and good bathrooms, and we loved the variety of activities available for all ages, from the games room to the F1 simulator. The host was excellent very attentive, explained everything clearly, and did a great job maintaining the property and ensuring we felt welcome throughout our stay. The enthusiasm from our group speaks for itself we received comments ranging from fantastic facilities to two very enthusiastic thumbs up to absolutely lovely and I had a fabulous time! Were so impressed that were already thinking ahead and discussing the possibility of booking again Thank you for such a memorable Christmas. We hope to return soon
Great place to stay for a big group of people. The sauna and hot tub an extra bonus and when the simulators are installed it will be even more amazing
Lesley
Just had 7 nights here with 16 family & friends. Five bells was perfect for our needs. Tracey was always available & very helpful if we needed anything. The house was in walking distance to a few pubs, restaurant , chip shop & shops. We all ate at The Crown Lodge who were very accommodating & provided a lovely Sunday lunch. The house was lovely with lots of facilities. We had pool, table tennis, air hockey, table football competitions! The kitchen was great, lots of equipment to make cooking easy either way so many. We spent evenings in the large bar area. The bedrooms are all roomy with comfy beds. The bathrooms & showers good & spotless. The sauna & hot tub also used & well kept with good toilet & shower. We would love to return

We had a fab weekend celebrating as a family at the five bells inn. Tracey is a star & met us with the keys & showed us around whilst talking us through the things to know etc, all instructions were available in writing at the property but was good to hear & see these things in person. Everyone of us had a great time & used all of the facilities, enjoyed walks around the nearby villages & along the canal. Hot tub & sauna were well used over the weekend. We paid the extra for the karaoke & F1 cars which were also well used so worth the extra pounds. Having the large kitchen was awesome, however the ovens, the gas one in particular seemed to take a lot longer to cook anything than usual. All in all a great time was had by all in a wonderful property with plenty of space for us all, thank you
Michael
Communication from both Lou and Tracey was great. The place was amazing, clean, tidy we had a great stay would recommend.
Fantastic weekend with mix of ages from 15 to 81. Plenty to do inside and outside and the place was perfect for the family celebration.
Alison
Fantastic time away with work colleagues. Everything you could want. Thank you
Carolyn
We honestly couldn't believe the place an amazing weekend. Everything was there to make the stay the best we could have hoped for. The beds were so comfy, the showers were all great, the facilities were impeccable. The kitchen was fully equipped and allowed for large scale catering and the games room, complete with board games and quiz games etc. was fab. We used all the space and our multigenerational group aged 185 all had plenty to enjoy and keep them occupied. We LOVED every minute!
Shelley
Fantastic place to stay , perfect in everyway A group of 18 adults stayed for a long weekend away what better way to celebrate your Husbands 50th Birthday than having your own pub! A fantastic space for large groups the beds were amazing, some of the best nights sleep some guests had ever had! The Five Bells was spotlessly clean, and had everything you could think of the kitchen was amazing, the team were really informative and gave you all the info you needed We would defiantly go back
Linzie
What a fantastic stay we had at The Five Bells! Communication with the owners were first class. The rooms, facilities and all the toys were so much fun. We hired the F1 simulator games which were a real hit and a fantastic addition to the weekend. Id highly recommend anyone to stay here and we will certainly be booking again.
Lesley
Absolutely amazing property, ideal for larger groups to get together, would highly recommend
Photos don't even do it justice. It's ideal for a big group very spacious but was also very cosy on a chilly weekend. Rooms were very nicely done and no signs of wear and tear so it must have had a very thorough refurb since it's life as a working pub. All very clean. There's a main bar area, dining area and snug which are well layed out and worked really well. Cooking for 17 people in the fully operational commercial kitchen was a breeze. Would recommend, no doubt
Nicola Anne
Absolutely fantastic property exceeded our expectations. Beds were so comfy, the whole property was really clean honestly had the best weekend. Our only gripe would be the cost of the F1 machines at 250 I feel these were way to expensive but there was enough else to do that the children didn't even ask which was great.
Hayley
We had an amazing stay at the five bells for my husbands 40th birthday! A great place to get all the family together, with everything you could possibly need. Thank you for a great stay!
Jacqueline

Would highly recommend, we were a family of. 13, ages ranging from 10 75. We.were welcomed by lovely Tracey who showed us round and explained where and how things worked. Plenty of comfortable places to sit. The games room and pool table were a great hit as well as.the hot tub and sauna. Couldn't find fault with anything, very clean,.great bedrooms,.comfortable beds, kitchen fully equiped. Recommend the local butchers where we got some tasty meat.for a bbq.
We were a party of ten who had an brilliant stay at The Five Bells. It was very spacious and different to anywhere we have stopped before. The bar area, the games room and the kitchen were all excellent and the outdoor space very well used. The bedrooms were all a good size and very comfortable. We would highly recommend this property.
An ideal property in an ideal location for interesting days out. Very wellequipped, clean and well maintained.
The property was excellent better then description, we were a family group to celebrate anniversary so different ages, there was plenty of space in bar and games room, everyone enjoyed inside and outside areas. The hot tub and sauna was great especially as we had good weather. The property was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. The annex was useful as had 2 members of group who struggle with stairs, both rooms in the annex had ensuites. The beds in all the rooms were spacious and rooms had plenty of space. An excellent property and look forward to going again.
Debbie
Perfect place to stay for our family. It was a 50th Birthday Celebration, there was plenty for everyone to do inside and out. The games room, snooker table and hot tub were well used. The house was very well equipped for cooking and dining. The bedrooms were light, clean and comfy and everything had been well thought out. Lou was a fabulous host meeting us on arrival and showing us round. Great weekend, Thank you
The pictures dont do this place justice! Absolutely incredible property with fantastic facilities. Our party ranged from 10 months old to 70 years old and everybody enjoyed themselves. The property was exceptionally clean which was lovely seeing as we had crawling babies, everyone who stayed also commented on how comfortable the beds were and what a homely feel the place had. Communication before our arrival was fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. We are already looking at potentially booking for Christmas time!
Gillian
It would be helpful to have more, simple information re the Formula 1 games. The fire alarm went off at 4.30a.m. Luckily, one of our party was able to turn this off after we had checked everywhere. Could there be instructions in the booklet if there is a false alarm? Some new cooking pots and pans would be good.
Really well thought out accomodation and stunning property the feeling of the pub is all around, pool table is well located and makes for social evenings. Family of 20 of us stayed for a 40th birthday weekend and something for all age groups
This property was fantastic. Very spacious, clean, great character with keeping the original pub feel. Rooms light, airy and beds really comfortable. We used it for team building, so all the table games etc, went really well. We go to different large houses most years and would definitely like to use this one again. It was perfect for what we wanted
50th birthday celebrations off to the perfect start when we arrived to be met by Tracey who gave us the guided tour . Everything was spotless and as described. Everything you could want for a weekend away is at hand . Clearly a lot of thought has gone into making the Five Bells the perfect rental. We especially enjoyed the hot tub .
Eleanor
A beautiful, well equipped property. Plenty of cutlery, crockery and glasses. 2 kettles, 2 microwaves, 2 large fridge and a large freezer. The very fast dishwasher & ice machine were brilliant, also washer, dryer and iron for those who wanted such things. Availability of high chair and cot was great. Games room was a hit. We set up a table with a jigsaw and another with crafts and colouring things for the children for the week and it was not in the way as property is vast. Craft and colouring things brought from home. Beds comfy, and rooms very nicely decorated, all having a hairdryer and shampoo & conditioner. Plenty of parking. Hot tub and sauna were fab. Downsides, showers upstairs went cold if more than one being used, toilet in one annexe didn't flush well. One bedroom is not ensuite, but we used the toilet at the bottom of the stairs during the night & the shower in the changing room so that we had our own space. All things considered, the pluses far outweigh the negatives and it's a great place for a big family holiday. Would highly recommend. Also, Tracey, the manager, was friendly, helpful and accommodating as some of our group arrived earlier than planned.
Melanie
Have just come back and celebrated my 50th with 15 friends and family, what a gem of a place. Plenty for everyone to do, the facilities are amazing plenty of utensils plates etc. we cooked a Sunday roast for 16, the kitchen was very well equipped. Nobody had any negatives the rooms are plenty big enough and clean. Would definitely recommend and would return again. The hot tub and sauna and a plus, the garden area would be fantastic in the summer. Thank you Tracey for running through everything with us.
This was such a great place we stayed over Christmas and it was so comfortable for everyone. The Christmas decorations were lovely. Tracy was a great help for anything we needed. I would definitely recommend.
Claire
I have just spent a week in this wonderful place celebrating my 70th birthday. Me and my family, all 21 of us are still talking about how amazing it was. All boxes were ticked, truly. Thank you Lou for meeting us on the first day, it was like Christmas when we walked into the pub. The karaoke was brilliant and the F1 simulators were much enjoyed. Every room had the most comfortable bed. Thank you Tracey for looking after us, always there at our beckon call when needed. The sauna and steam room were the icing on the cake for us. What a treat to relax a week before Xmas. My brother in law loves cooking and he said the kitchen was to die for. None of us could fault the place. Thank you also to Sykes Cottages who were most helpful when I had any queries. I whole heartedly recommend The Five Bells Inn and will look to return again in the future.
