54 Bridge Street Reviews

Catherine Elin
Such a beautiful cottage and garden. We were incredibly lucky with the weather on the first night so we spent it in the garden with nibbles and wine and it was perfect. The cottage was very clean and had everything one could need the only thing we couldnt find was a cafetire! Again, breakfast and coffee in the garden was charming. Really nice to see a wellkept garden and it felt so secret from the rest of the town even though it was central. Good amount of ensuites and it really was wellequipped and beautifully finished. We were staying for an event in Gainsborough and have another one in Lincoln soon so were hoping to book again if the timing is right
Andrew
Could do with a new oven but great location lovely and cosy log fire was a bonus
Louise
54 Bridge Street a Bridge too far! Significantly not helped by the lack of Customer Service with Sykes. So many issues within this property, all of which have been brought to your attention during our stay, after our stay and considering previous reviews, previous customers as well. You have chosen not to accept any real responsibility which has left us no choice but to contact Citizens Advice. You are quick to take our booking, quick to accept the monies and yet unwilling to accept that this did not meet the criteria. This is so different to any property we have previously booked via Sykes, but this will certainly be our last booking with you. Disappointing all around.
Amanda
We stayed here for a family pre Christmas event, 6 adults and 3 children, we found the property ideal for our needs, perfect location on the main street at Brigg, the house was tastefully decorated, with a xmas tree and decorations for our gathering, it is spacious but cosy, clean, with everything required supplied, warm and welcoming, we would stay again if in the area.
Property not really suitable for guests who may be unsteady on their feet, as being very old the floors are not level. Also instructions for one of the showers shows it is prone to leaking. We felt this should be investigated and repaired rather than put the onus on guests to try to prevent a leak.
We have met up at this place a few times and it's always an excellent weekend
Frances
A lovely house with everything you need for a perfect stay. The only slight issue we had was with the oven as the symbols are very faded so we couldn't see whether we were putting the grilloven on or what temp it was at.
Property was perfect for us as an extended family group. We had everything we needed within the property and had no real issues during our stay. As noted in a couple of the reviews the shower in the bathroom with the macerator leaks into the front room during even careful use. We mitigated this by using the shower in the family bathroom instead, this shower is incredibly powerful and is a great way to start the day. All in all a loverly stay and a location I would strongly recommend

We just love Brigg house, as we fondly named it. This is our second stay and loved every minute. The backyard is perfect for warm summer nights and for the kids to play. The short walk to the shops and restaurants is ideal. We hope to continue staying at this property on our future trips to the UK.
What a beautiful house. There were five of us met here for the weekend. So much space and so lovely. In the town so easy to walk into for food and a wander. I had a lovely run along the river one morning and there is also a Park run here which is good if anyone wants to do a new one! We drove into lincon and had a wander round. Also not too far. The house has everything you could think of or need. Would definitely recommend.
54 Bridge Street is a well located and comfortable house very close to Brigg town centre, which was ideal for our family gettogether. The house is generally well equipped and there was sufficient space for us all. On the first day, we had problems with the heating and not enough hot water but the owner and her heating engineer visited promptly and resolved the boiler issues. One of the ensuites had noisy plumbing so it wasn't used at night but this wasn't much of a problem. The house has a lovely, private rear garden which, due to the time of year, we didn't use but it's definitely an asset for a town centre property. Also, the dedicated parking was appreciated. Overall, this is a good holiday cottage for family or friends to be together. We enjoyed visits to Elsham Country Park, Barton under Humber and The Ropeworks, ice creams on the promenade at Cleethorpes plus a lovely day out in Lincoln. We had a fine meal at The Millfield restaurant located on the outskirts of Brigg.

Amazing stay! The facilities were incredible and location was perfect! Thank you!

Fab stay at 54 Bridge Street. The property is beautiful and we had a great few nights. The house has everything you need and was really comfortable.
Christopher
This property was fantastic, we couldn't find fault with the property at all and it was fully equipped. Also the position of the property is great too, all the shops, restaurants and bars are within walking distance which was a big plus. We would highly recommend and we will be going back.
Lovely cottage with great rooms and comfy beds. Very friendly and helpful hosts! Would definitely book again. Thank you for having us!

A lovely Easter weekend at the cottage. The cottage has a lot of character, was well furnished, very comfortable for 6 adults and 3 children. Kitchen was well stocked, lots of kit in the house to make it feel like a home away from home. The garden was excellent, although we didn't get to spend too much time out there due to rain. The instructions were clear and the fireplace is just stunning in the larger sitting room for a fantastic social space. Overall much recommended for the location and facilities. The floorboards are creaky, have to be careful with the ensuite bathrooms, there are instructions but still water can leak if you are not very careful. Loft conversion bathroom has a small sink, water splashes over. The location could get busy on some nights as its close to the town centre with many pubs around.
This was the third time we have stayed at the property as we had really enjoyed the place previously. However, on this occasion we were very disappointed at the poor level of cleanliness especially in the kitchen. The oven was filthy and covered inside with grease and fat. It clearly hadn't been cleaned. The oven dishes were the same, so bad that I went out and bought my own oven dish to cook a Turkey for the family as I didn't want to use the dirty ones on offer. The saucepans were as bad, two contained pieces of rice which hadn't been cleaned properly. I am more than happy to provide photos to the owners of the property The bathrooms were all clean and the bedrooms too except for one of the beds were my wife found a tissue under the duvet cover....... if the level of cleanliness could be brought back to the standard we previously experienced then we would have no criticism. The house is large and spacious with room for our family and it was great to catch up with our elderly parents. Will we stay again? Probably not after this.
The house and garden are really quite beautiful. Cleanliness was poor, especially in the kitchen and on a minor level in one of the bathrooms. The dining chairs and lounge carpet are heavily marked which makes it feel unhygienic and could easily be changed. Given the house can sleep up to 10 guests, there was a significant lack of oven proof dishes and serving dishes. The chippings laid in the parking area are very deep and made it unsuitable for any guests with mobility issues. That lead to the need to drop people off at the front of the house before moving the car to the back. A more stable surface would be much more suitable.
We had a lovely weekend at the cottage. It was easy to find and well placed within the town to give easy access to shops, pubs and restaurants. The property was clean, spacious and comfortable with plenty of room for the seven of us. The kitchen is well equipped and there are plenty of bathrooms for guests. Despite being near the centre of town, the house is very quiet at night with very little noise from the pub or pedestrians. It has a lovely garden to the rear which would be safe for children. Parking at the rear is limited and wouldn't suit more than four average size cars. My only gripe was the lack of spare toilet rolls but, given that there are numerous shops close by, it wasn't a problem to get some! I would certainly visit again, and indeed we probably will in the future. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Great house. Great location.
Really lovely house. 5 spacious double rooms 3 with en suites so great for large groups. Everything in the house we needed.
We had a great stay, as a party of 9 7 adults 2 kids we had so much space, everything was easy to find, the garden and patio space was lovely, each bedroom was individually decorated and really well done. We only really used the larger sitting room but other than that everything was utilised. The location is absolutely brilliant, close to supermarkets and you also have the pedestrian town area on your doorstep, so local shops, pubs etc. The instructions for the house, parking etc were all great and easy to follow. I have already recommended to friends and I think as a family wed love to visit again too! Thank you
We booked this cottage as my daughter was getting married at Elsham Hall and it couldnt have been better for her and ourselves to get ready for the big day. The cottage was gorgeous with everything we couldve needed and very comfortable. Its a great location for exploring the town but in a lovely and quiet location. Would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back.
Claire
Another lovely stay. Spacious property with great location to amenities shops, supermarket, etc. As there were 10 of us, we were a little short on cutlery particularly forks!! We struggled with the oven as the dials are worn. Towels and bedding were lovely and everywhere was really clean. Showers and baths were super too. We all enjoyed the sweet treats in our rooms too! Thanks for another super stay.
Beautiful cottage. Excellent location. We had a wonderful family weekend away. Everything was just perfect. Thank you.
The cottage at Bridge Street was perfect. We had booked it for family to stay who had travelled from South America for our daughters wedding. They absolutely loved the cottage its history and beautiful decor. Thank you to the owners for providing such amazing accommodation.
Our whole family went for my sons birthday. We all loved the cottage. What a fabulous place,it was great to have so many double beds as this is very rare and there was everything we needed. It would have been nice to have a couple of mirrors in the bedrooms that weren't en suite and a hair dryer as I had forgotten mine but apart from that it's a fantastic place to stay. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
Fantastically spacious, clean and well equipped property. Lovely garden and location. Fantastic Chinese across the road and supermarketsshops within a very short walk. Great markets on Thursdays and Saturdays. Would def recommend and stay again.
Curtain rail end which is glass in lounge and dining room fell off, one nearly missing our grandaughter. Brass kno on back of dining room door fell off as my daughter turned it and landed on her foot. Disappointed with shower on top floor and shared bath on first floor. Went to use BBQ and it was very dirty. Bought throw away ones instead. House itself lovely and quaint. Good size garden and great place for all local shops and supermarkets without using the car.
Leslie
Perfect house and garden to come back to relax in after walking the Lincolnshire Wolds. Everything was just as it should be. Extra bonus was The Yarborough Hunt next door and the The China Royal Chinese Restaurant across the road.
Rhiannon
Everything was fab apart from 2 leaking showers that came through the downstairs ceiling, so had to panic to clean up and then share bathrooms. Seems to be a long term problem based on a 2019 review.
Claire
The house was practically perfect for us 6 adults and 4 children. We loved having 2 rooms downstairs so we could use one as a children's play room and one for the adults. The children enjoyed the lawned area of the garden and the Easter bunny hunt in the garden was memorable. It was a lovely treat to find flowers and chocolates in every bedroom too. The folder gave useful advice on the local area and shops as well as how to work the appliances.
Wesley
Brilliant property, very comfortable and great garden! Perfect for a big family meet up and the owners were really helpful with requests we had!
We were very pleased with the standard of cleanliness of the house and with the provision of logs for the open fires. It is in a great location with many amenities within a short walk. We had a lovely family Christmas at 54 and would recommend it.
Tracey
Lovely holiday home. Five good sized double bedrooms, 3 with ensuite. Plenty of space for a large group and well equipped with everything you could need.
We were a family of 7. Four disabled seniors and three adults. The house suited us perfectly! The garden was lovely too as was the location of the property. A fantastic holiday making unforgettable memories!!!
Richard
Lovely period house, attractively furnished and plenty of space for 10 NB all beds are doubles. Peaceful garden and summer house, although background road noise surprised us with its high level. A great base for walking the footpaths or river and exploring the heritage sites locally. ThursdaySaturday market 100 yards away was worth supporting. A few quibbles the plumbing is not really adequate for the ensuites only one tap or shower operates at a time in the house. It was odd not to have a coffee potcafetiere other than a singlecup size in a large house like this. Bin collectionrecycling was only partial and seemed unclear. But a very attractive place to stay.
Really fantastic cottage with all the basic amenities and enough space to easily accommodate large groups without stepping on each other! The only problem was the shower water pressure, where in some showers the water would suddenly stop if someone else turned on another shower.
