The Croft Farm, Thornhaugh

A lovely place to stay for a large gathering. The accommodations were exceptionally clean and tidy, although I think the kitchen crockery, cutlery and pans etc all end up in the The Barn as this seems to be the better one for a get together, as the Farm House was quite short in these items. The host could not be any more helpful and was always on the end of the phone if needed. Would definitely recommend and would like to stay again.

Splendid and spacious modernised farmhouse in a historically rich part of middle England, perfectly situated.

Very nice properties. Well presented and furnished. As we were a large group, we occupied all three properties. The only downside was that there were not enough bathroomshower rooms. Pay careful attention to information provided. Hot tub was a bonus and very welcome!

This is our second visit as an extended family to Croft Farm and it just works for us, all of us! I have a feeling it might become a regular event now such has been the enthusiasm of all three generations.

My 60th birthday celebration with my girlfriends from Fri 10th to Mon 13th Oct 2025 Well where do I start even before our arrival day I was in communication with Peter the owner who responded speedily and positively to my few requests, we then went on to meet him at the property and he was such a lovely friendly and helpful guy, as we were a houseful of women he mentioned if we needed anything during our stay just to call him as he lives locally and would be on hand. As for the property itself it is an absolute credit to him and to his cleaners who we met on Monday morning and did compliment them on the extremely high standard of cleanliness they maintain The interior of all three properties qre presented so beautifully and tastefully, we wanted for nothing the owners have thought about everything. We had the most relaxed, fun filled weekend in such an amazing setting. We also had a birthday lunch at The Black Horse in Elton which was just a short Uber ride away and it was really good too. I cannot recommend highly enough this property and we will definitely be back

The Croft Farm is in a lovely location with plenty of off street parking available and very pleasant walks from the doorstep. The bathrooms were immaculately clean and the beds were comfy. We only used the kitchen in The Granary and it was very well equipped and large. However, as we were cooking for 16 it would have been very helpful to have a couple of very large pans to use. However we found that the overall accommodation didnt entirely suit our party of 16 as the biggest communal space The Granary couldnt seat us all at the dining table or in the sitting area. We also found the bathroom and toilet configuration in The Farmhouse a little disappointing with those sleeping in the two attic rooms having to go down one flight of spiral stairs to the toilet and two flights to the bathrooms. The plumbing in The Farmhouse rattles and gurgles very loudly with every use of the toilets and bathrooms and woke us up several times!

Excellent accommodation. Superbly furnished and decorated. Would highly recommend. Absolutely ideal for family get togethers.

Absolutely loved the property which is in a beautiful location. We had 18 people stay across the 3 houses and it worked perfectly. Would definitely recommend! Only downside was that the hot tub only housed 6 people at a time. Also a couple of hairdryers available would have been nice, but this is very minor. Everything else was catered for! Will definitely be coming back

What a fantastic set up. We hired The Croft Farm for my sons wedding in Elton. I had my three sons and partners staying and all the ushers 14 altogether. The Croft is split into 3 separate houses which gave each group their privacy. Beautiful garden where we all met in the morning for breakfast. It honestly could not have been more perfect. Well equipped in all areas with plenty of towels for each guest even toys indoor and out for my 3 year old grandson perfect. The hot tub was an added bonus enjoyed by most guests over our stay. Briefly met Peter the owner who was very charming and helpful. Would definitely recommend this gorgeous property in the quite little village of Thorngaugh.

16 people stayed at the property for the weekend and we had 0 complaints between us. The property is clean tidy, everything you need there, Beds are comfywith our request of all double beds met, living areas are spacious, hot tub was clean, outside area was tidy.. owner of property was very polite and accommodating. Overall, was a lovely stay & would defo recommend for large group bookings.

We have just had a fantastic long weekend at Croft Farm. Having access to all three buildings was ideal, and the layout perfect for our group of 11. The main building has such character, but matches the modern day comforts of the Granary and Barn. The grounds and setting were perfect, and it's so easy to access. The instructions were clear, and the owner extremely helpful attending to our requirements. All in all we would highly recommend this property, particularly for large groups. I have seen previous comments about the main house being cold, but once you get to grips with the heating booster we found it to be absolutely fine and that was in February! Overall we had a memorable weekend, and genuinely hope to come back for another visit.

We had an amazing family celebration at The Croft Farm over new year for a 50th birthday surprise get together. We booked all 3 houses for a large family party and it worked really well. The separation gave family members space when needed and then we were able to come together in the Granary for meal times. Having a connecting door between the Granary and the Barn was ideal and unexpected. The Granary provided the perfect space for 14 people to eat, play games and socialise. Peter the host was friendly, responsive and very accommodating. Some of the kitchen utensils, glasses and pot and pans needed extra scrubbing before use, but I would say that's as much on previous guests to leave as they would wish to find them. The sun rise was amazing over the fields and well worth getting up for. The hot tub worked well, and is a really nice extra. Overall it was a great location, clean, good host and we had a great time.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at Croft Farm for our family's 40th & 50th birthday get together. The accommodation in all three properties was ideal. Clean, comfortable & well equipped. The spacious living & dining area in the Granary was great for group gatherings & social game nights & meal times. The hot tub was an added bonus. Great & responsive communication from Peter when needed. Great location with plenty to explore & see locally & Stamford only a 10 minute drive away. Only thing to add is to remember to bring your own hairdryer & extra towels for the hot tub as these are not provided. All in all a great stay & will definitely return. Thanks very much. Debbie

We had an absolutely amazing stay! A beautiful property in a gorgeous setting. We would happily return!

Lovely long weekend for my cousins 70 th birthday with 2 families including 3 babies . It was nice to be spread across the 3 properties and to still have our own kitchen but yet to be in and out of each others houses and sharing the lovely garden and hot tub !! Garden secured for Dogs and children . Unfortunately the heating in the main house was very unreliable and the house was very cold a lot of the time the thermostat for the heating was situated in the wrong place and consequently the rest of the house didnt heat up we called the owner who was close by and he had to come a couple of times we had to light the log burner on the last morning this was disappointing the Hot water was also too hot in the main house and could be a potential hazard when bathing young or old !! The drinking wine Glasses were disappointing and a varied hotch potch of sizes , styles and quality some being plastic which when you are paying a lot for 2 nights one would hope for much better standard . Otherwise we had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend, the surrounding country side is lovely and we did lots of nice walks and had a fabulous Bithday Tea at The Haycock Manor Hotel which is most definitely worth a visit .

This is a beautiful property and has everything you need. We had a fabulous time. Weve stayed here before and will definitely be back.

Fantastic stay. Great facility, perfect for our needs. Lots of really good space to spread out if needed. Kitchen so well stocked with good quality knives, garlic press, tea towels etc. All the things you never get provided in other holiday homes. I didn't need to bring my own.

Absolutely stunning property! Even bigger than it looks in the pictures. We stayed for a weekend, a mix of friendsfamily and had everything we needed, so much room to spread out across the 3 barns. We were pleasantly surprised to find a bbq, and 2 long bench tables outside too. And we almost missed the hidden bedroomensuite behind the bookshelf! Of course the hot tub was used too. Whole weekend was perfect.

Such a lovely place to stay, everything you could possibly need and more. Loads of space for big families. Would recommended and will stay again!!

Great cottages, lots of space. Perfect for our big group of 18, near lots of attractions.

This is a wonderful location for a get together with extended family or a group of friends with plenty of space to enjoy yourself and great facilities. It was also helpful to have some accommodation on the ground floor. The decor and furnishing are lovely and all was very well equipped. The hot tub was an added bonus to help us feel that we were truly on holiday!

Some minor maintenance issues which have been reported before us had not been dealt with. The owners were absolutely brilliant on our arrival. Our Tesco delivery had arrived way too early but they had put it all in the fridge or the freezer as necessary. They were also kind enough to allow us a little more time on our departure day as noone else was coming in that day.

Was an amazing venue to hold my dads 80th Birthday celebrations, inc a Murder Mystery party for 16 adults! ! Lovely to have Peter to pop over and check all ok on our arrival, personal touch! Enough cutleryplates etc for all of us did have to move it between the three properties. Welcome basket was appreciated. The only downside was the noise of the water heater? in the hidden bedroom. Would definitely stay again.

We had a fantastic big family celebration weekend at Croft Farm. All of the accommodation and facilities really are excellent and of a very high quality and clearly a lot of thought has gone into what guests want and need. Peter was really helpful with a few minor issues. I would love to return in warmer weather and make more use of the outside space. 5 stars from us!!!

A lovely cottage and perfect for a big group. The secure garden meant the children and dog could be let outside without worry. Good size bedrooms and facilities.

Great stay over Christmas very clean, bedding fabulous all great. Lost heating on the last night in the barn phoned the owner he provided a couple of fan heaters this did the trick all good

The property was much larger than we had initially thought and two of the properties were connected which made things even more perfect. Host was great at responding with any queries. Was super clean, lots of amenities. One cottage was very cute with a fire and secret room perfect for cosy winter nights. The other cottage more modern but great for hosting dinner. Hope to be back! This is a beautiful property. We celebrated a family birthday here and it was fantastic. The three parts to the house are beautifully furnished and very well equipped with everything you need. The gardens have a large hot tub and seating areas for enjoying, we were lucky with the weather so spent most of our time outside. The owner was lovely and extremely helpful and answered all our queries very quickly. I am very happy to give this accommodation 10 out of 10, its wonderful.

Our family of four generations,ages ranging for 3 years to 87, all had a fantastic week at croft Farm. The cottages were clean and well equipped and the outside space was perfect. This really was the perfect place for our annual family holiday and would highly recommend it.

The Croft Farm is simply perfect for groups and families who want to have a break away together. The location itself is perfect, it is a matter of minutes from the A1 so it is super convenient for travel, but once you arrive you couldn't feel more miles away from everything. We went as 4 families all with young children and a baby and the cottages just seemed perfect for our needs, the fact that we could have 3 living spaces was ideal when people needed space, and we could have 1 set watching a film in the Granary, another in the Farmhouse playing boardgames. While the baby was nursed in peace in the Barn. The outside space also worked amazingly, it is so communal and can be accessed from all cottages. We had lovely weather so the hot tub got a lot of use and we managed to BBQ for everyone too, we spent a lot of time just chilling in the garden knowing all the kids could play safely and dog was safely enclosed. The owners could have been more helpful in the run up to our trip and answered every query quickly. The cottages themselves were beautiful, well equipped and just perfect for groups with The Granary being the perfect eating space for all of us. Also there was much excitement because it took a little while to find the secret bedroom, so if you go, enjoy finding it, its genuinely special. We are already looking at dates so we can book for even longer next year

Perfect venue for a large family gathering such as ours. Plenty of choice,catering for the different requirements of all age groups. Be aware if you have a small dog who likes to escape,as the Granary has a large farm gate at the end of the garden which we had to cover up. Peter the owner was very friendly and always available to help. Perfect venue for large family gatherings .Thank you

Fabulous cottages beautiful surroundings and wonderful place to stay. We are a group of 16 4 families who have been holidaying for 16 years together this was by far the best place we have stayed. We even re booked before we left.

The cottages were beautiful, and the attention to detail was second to none! I absolutely loved our time staying there, probably one of the nicest cottages I've stayed in! Hot tub was lovely and hot too. If you have small dogs they may be able to get out of the gates so bare that in mind, one of our dogs was a bit bigger so he was fine! No complaints, at all the facilities inside the cottage were fab! Thank you xx

Excellent property 3 properties of 9 bedrooms. A great location for a cousin reunion of 12. Wonderful layout kitchen space for meals together . Really welcoming host. Look forward to visiting again, would really recommend.

Our extended family went here to celebrate an 80th birthday, what a beautiful house, the two cottages are linked, one ideal for people not too good with stairs and the farmhouse was just next door. The secret bedroom was wonderful. I would definitely recommend a stay here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We contacted the owner in relation to a potential minor issue, they responded immediately and sorted it out. Thank you, we would love to come back.
