The Old Chapel Reviews

The hot tub wasnt working properly was far too hot so couldnt be used for half of our stay. Two of the children also had red rash on their faces, which we thought was from using the hot tub. The water was cloudy by the end of our stay. The house wasnt very clean, on arrival. Mainly downstairs. Food marks on velvet sofa could do with a shampoo. The house wasnt a great size and all rooms were great, but the small things I mentioned let it down.
The property was beautiful and exactly how it was presented in the pictures. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Old Chapel was perfect! We have stayed in a lot of houses over the years and there is always something not quite right but with this one it had nothing wrong. We loved it!
We stayed here for our friends special birthday, the house was perfect for a group stay. It had everything we needed and so we enjoyed a great weekend here. Check in was easy too.
Had a great family break fantastic property will certainly be back in the future

This was our second visit to this wonderful property this year and we once again enjoyed every second. From the roaring fire and amazing hot tub to the thoughtful christmas gifts and decorations we never want to leave. My grandson wants me to buy it so we can all live there together thats how welcome the wonderful owners make you feel a visit to this place is a must
The whole process of staying at the old chapel was wonderful. Great communication through the booking process and a personal mail from the owners was a nice touch the month before our visit. The property itself is stunning and well equipped. Loads of space and the games room needs to be seen to be believed. Parking was plentiful and there was a nice welcome pack on arrival with coffee pods for us and good information on the surroundings. Made for such a relaxing weekend that we will definitely be back.
We recently stayed at the property for a family weekend to celebrate my mothers 70th birthday. There were 11 of us in total, and overall, we had a really enjoyable break. The space was fantastic, and the facilities were generally good, which made it a lovely place for us all to gather. However, there were a number of issues that let the property down and gave the impression of a lack of attention to detail. Cleanliness was not up to standard in places for example, skirting boards were grubby, there was dirt in nooks and crannies such as around the sink and under the counter lip, and the dishwasher filter was filthy, meaning items came out gritty and dirty. Much of the kitchen equipment glasses, cups, plates, cutlery, utensils had been put away still dirty and had to be rewashed before we could use them. For a property of this size, a few extra pieces of cutlery would also be useful, as there was only just enough for 12. In addition, there was a lack of sharp knives or a knife sharpener, and the frying pans were in such poor condition they could not be used, which made cooking for a large group more difficult than it needed to be. The dcor and maintenance needed some attention too. The kitchen floor had deteriorated, the shower door edges were worn and in need of replacement, and one bedroom door did not fit properly it needs rehanging so it will close without making a loud scraping noise. In terms of supplies, only one teatowel was provided insufficient for a large group, more bin bags should be supplied, and a mop would have been useful for kitchen floor spillages. Outside, the garden furniture needed some care, the patio would have benefitted from a sweep before arrival, and the hot tub area was unwelcoming due to bird droppings. A pot filled with sand, apparently used for stubbing out cigarettes, had been left on the patio and sand had spilled onto the ground. Despite these issues, we did enjoy our stay overall and made the most of the great space and facilities. Its just a shame that these relatively small details, which are all fixable, affected what could have been an excellent experience.
This house is an absolute gem set in the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside. Its the perfect party house for a celebration or just a get away with family and friends. I went for my 60th birthday and it was truly amazing from the second we walked in definitely a wow factor! Beautiful bedrooms and bathrooms big fluffy towels and immaculate bedding.Fantastic open plan kitchen with large dinning table cosy sitting room enough room for us all to chill and relax. The garden was also great all enclosed with a hot tub and amazing views.I think we are actually in love and cant wait to come back.
Nice, bright property with lots of bedrooms suitable for two families. The hot tub was great and well maintained. Very nice kitchen with fridge supplying chilled, filtered water and ice. The oven was very good too and there was a large TV and comfy sofas. On the third floor there was darts, pool and table football. We found that we didn't use it much, as it was very hot up there and the pool table had warped slightly in the heat.

Absolutely stunning house! I stayed here for the weekend with 9 friends and we could not of been happier, the house was perfect! Rooms amazing with very comfortable beds! Huge kitchendinning room! The biggest hot tub Ive ever been in, My favourite room would have to be the games room upstairs with a bar, great for entertainment. I think I speak for all the girls that stayed the weekend when I say we felt like royalty in this house! Well worth the money and most definitely plan on returning again, probably for longer then a weekend next time as I did not want to leave
Absolutely fabulous property. It has everything you need and more. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary by staying at this wonderful property with our lovely family. The younger members of the family really enjoyed the games room. We would definitely recommend staying here and hope to return in the future.
Had an amazing stay. Beautiful place for all the family. Large seating area so plenty of room for the 9 of us. Opening the doors onto the garden and sitting at the large dining table for the family meal was a treat. The games room was very popular as was the piano.
Amanda
We really enjoyed our stay. The space was great for our large group. The hot tub and games room were plus points when looking for a place to stay. The kitchen is huge and accommodated us all easily. Bedrooms are all good sizes. Would recommend.
My partner booked the Old Chapel as a birthday surprise for my 40th, with family and friends for a mini retreat. A yoga instructor friend came to do some sessions with us in the loft, which was the perfect location with beautiful views either side through the gorgeous windows. The property is beautifully renovated, incredibly spacious and perfect for a group with stunning rooms and bathrooms. Beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was superbly stocked with enough of everything including loads of tea, coffee and milk for a cuppa before you unpack. The garden is lovely and peaceful, hot tub really relaxing very deep!. The hosts were very communicative, instructions for getting in really straight forward and clear. The welcome pack was full of info, and after we left and had left am item behind they were really accommodating for us in trying to locate and return it. The games room was so much fun, the pool table especially a little bit wonky so the balls did some funny things which made it more fun, retro games, excellent choice of board games. We didn't leave the property and were entertained all weekend with small kids and grown ups alike. Overall I'd highly recommend the Old chapel. It was absolutely wonderful and a very special place. Can't comment on location as we didn't go out, but it was peaceful and beautiful and easy to find. Enough parking for 4 cars on the drive as well as on the street if needed. I hope we can return in future, thank you so much for a really special way to get a year older!!
Sharon
Stunning property with lots to offer! The game room was a massive hit with our group and thoroughly enjoyed the use of it throughout. The property has everything you can think of, and if it didn't have something, owners were quick to find a solution. Overall would stay again and highly recommend to other users 100!
We recently spent a 3 night weekend at The Old Chapel in Kexby, Glentworth, for my daughters 21st birthday celebration with our family. Checkin was simple, using the key safe system, and we felt immediately at home with everything we could possibly need for a fun weekend. The property was clean and comfortable, with plenty of seating for everybody in the kitchendining area and also the living room. The bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. We made use of the games room including the pool table and dart board and also the hot tub in the garden. It was in a great location for walking our dogs. There was a useful guide to the property which included plenty of ideas if you wanted to get out and about, although we chose to spend most of our time in the lovely chapel.
The Old Chapel was simply beautiful! We had a great time as a group of friends staying here with two dogs. The games room and hot tub were great! As well as the safe and secure garden for the dogs to run around. All bedrooms were beautiful and the kitchen and dinning area were perfect for a big group. Thank you!
We loved our stay at the chapel. Its perfect for large groups. The bedrooms are all lovely and the open plan kitchendiner makes a great social space downstairs. The log burner in the lounge was a highlight over new year!
Stayed in the beautiful property over Christmas 2024 with my family. Everything was great, very clean and everything was as described. The owners left a lovely Christmas gift and card which was a kind gesture, they also called us to check all was ok. I would definitely recommend this property for a large gathering, the open plan design downstairs is great for socialising. Overall we had a lovely time and would book again.
A stunning property. Could do with some soft furnishings in kitchen area like curtains above sofa and blinds in kitchen and dining area as blinded by the beautiful sunshine on our stay. Floorboards in bedrooms very creaky but could easily be sorted. We would definitely come back. Perfect for a family gathering.
Lindsey
A lovely property with plenty of social space, we enjoyed the games room, hot tub and cooking together in the well equipped kitchen. The new owners were very helpful and we were impressed how quickly they got a plumber out to fix a tap that started leaking during our stay. We enjoyed trips out to Lincoln, to the coast and for dog walks in the woods.
